Help Us Secure our Forever Home in Heathfield!
We’ve officially submitted our planning application to turn 37 High Street into a permanent community Micropub.
But we need your voice to make it happen...
"We want it, Heathfield needs it"
That's what you've said, we've listened and are building the next chapter of Two Tails in Heathfield. But we need your help to make it a reality.
Before we can build it we need planning approval for this Change of Use and the council needs to see overwhelming community backing. This application isn't about brick and mortar; it evaluates how our new space will positively impact the local area. Because of this, your personal feedback is critical.
We've created this quick guide to give you ideas and suggestions on how you can submit an impactful online comment of support, that details what Two Tails means to you.
This is our town's project - let’s show the planning authorities that Heathfield stands firmly behind us!
Thanks for your support - Deena & Colin

Need Inspiration?
Here are some key 'Two Tails points and ideas' to help you write your comment. You don't need to use them all, just the ones that strike a chord with you.
Comments can be submitted on behalf of an individual, a group or a business and all are as important. If you represent a business or a community group your comment is extremely powerful.
Above all, write in your own words and from your own experience - or what kind of experience you want. Personal stories, examples and observations are often the most persuasive form of support.
This is your chance to share your own story. Why do you choose to visit Two Tails? Think about what makes our space unique or valuable to you personally, and describe how you would feel if it were no longer part of the High Street.
Focus on our selection of independent breweries, wineries, cider makers, and local producers. Mention if you enjoy trying unique products not available elsewhere, or how the venue appeals to people who do not usually visit traditional pubs.
Mention if you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable here. Talk about how the environment allows people of all different ages and backgrounds to mix together naturally. If you bring your family, talk about how safe you feel.
Explain how Two Tails encourages you to spend more time in the Heathfield town centre. Do you visit other local shops or businesses before or after dropping by? Help show the council how we keep spending within the local area!
Mention how important is to have somewhere within walking distance, when all similar venues are a drive away.
Talk about any fundraising activities, charity events, or local partnerships you have seen us involved with. Mention how the space helps you feel more connected to Heathfield life.
Note the importance of local employment, work experience for young people, and providing stable jobs within our community - Two Tails has a great record of employing young people at peak times, including collaboration with Wealden Works!
Highlight how Two Tails acts as a crucial launchpad for local entrepreneurs, independent makers, and sole traders. Mention how we provide a physical platform for new businesses to showcase, test, and sell their products directly to the public.
Emphasise the need for a forward-thinking, resilient High Street. Explain why permanent venues like Two Tails are essential for keeping Heathfield vibrant, modern, and adaptable to changing community needs for years to come.
Personal stories and observations are the single most persuasive tool we have to convince the planning committee.
Thank you so much for supporting us.
